Kindred Behavioral Research, Inc was founded by Stephanie Irby Coard, Ph.D., a clinically trained psychologist, professor, and parent with a passion for uplifting children and families of color. KBR reflects Dr. Coard’s 20+ years of research and understanding of socio-cultural factors in relation to the etiology, treatment and prevention of child mental health problems. She applies her clinical experience working with diverse children, adolescents, families and communities and the development, implementation and evaluation of culturally relevant evidence-based interventions to promote their well-being.  Dr. Coard founded KBR so she could share research-based tools and resources with parents, families, professionals and community organizations who wish to promote cultural, emotional, social and behavioral health and resilience in youth and families.  The overarching mission of KBR is to bridge science and culture to promote mental health and well-being among children and families of color.
